Your attention, please.

You will note that it has been some time since I have committed an entry to this journal. It is not, I assure you, from lack of material to criticize. If anything, the monstrous, soul-killing behemoth of western culture is worse now than it was when I put fingers to keyboard to discuss Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

What has changed is the amount of time I have to devote to my online life. My book The Urbaniak Effect has been put on the back burner for now, as I have been finishing my dissertation. However, when I was last dining with my editor I told her of an idea I have for a series of detective novels, about a young, idealistic grad student who uses her analytical skills and vast understanding of culture to solve murders, while simultaneously balancing her career and increasingly complicated love life. Look for the first one in the fall of next year!free stats

Spoken like a member of "The Coffee Generation." Still wouldn't mind having a [info]talk_show interview with you.

And with Ms. Strang here as well, who I don't think knows anything about this.

[info]talk_show is a blog where I conduct conversations with LJ users about their blogs, their lives, their habits and hobbies and whatever they've got on their minds. It is a wide-ranging and freewheeling enterprise that is syndicated outside of LJ as well.

Intelligent, quirky raconteurs make for the best guests, which is why you both would be good. However I understand the constraints of time.

This year, I may, in addition to using IM services like AIM or LJ Talk to conduct interviews, go via comment thread in a locked journal post, which would mean you could just do quick response hits to a thread rather than have to sit for a couple hours in an IM if you don't have that sort of time. (And actually the IM sessions can be broken into 4 segments - they all are, anyhow, so there are lots of ways around the time issue).

Before this becomes another marathon, I'll end here, and see if either of you have a response.
